i2L Research Ltd Acquired by Cawood Ltd
We are pleased to announce that we have been acquired by Cawood, the UK’s largest independent provider of analytical laboratory testing services for the land-based industries.
With its head office based in Bracknell, Berkshire, and eight UK-based divisions, Cawood provides a complete analytical solution for all testing services required for businesses engaged in the agricultural, horticultural, amenity and environmental sectors. i2L will operate as a division of Cawood.
‘I will continue to lead the i2L business, working closely with the Cawood team to provide our customers with the high-quality laboratory testing and field studies they have come to expect, and to develop new services that will enable them to purchase a larger proportion of their regulatory ecotoxicology from us,’ said Dr Peter McEwen, Chief Executive Officer of i2L Research. ‘Our business has grown quickly in recent years, and the backing of Cawood puts us in a strong position to continue that growth. Both companies are aligned in terms of our vision for the future and our culture and values. This, along with our complementary services, made Cawood an obvious partner for us.’
i2L Research will sit in Cawood’s Science business unit, alongside Mambo-Tox, the Southampton-based terrestrial ecotoxicology research facility. Whilst Mambo-Tox tests for toxicity of plant protection products and biocides, we extend their service by also testing for efficacy.
‘I am delighted to welcome Peter, Catherine, Pavel, Roger, Edwin and their teams to Cawood,’ said Simon Parrington, Cawood’s Group CEO. ‘i2L Research has an excellent reputation for expertise in ecotoxicology and efficacy testing services, and its divisions worldwide will open our customer base to larger European and American markets. We are looking forward to working together to grow our science business.’
‘We are delighted to be joining Cawood,’ continued Peter. ‘We are looking forward to fast tracking our business growth with access to the Cawood Group customer base, their existing demand for our services, and the backing of the wider group.’
