Following a first degree from Staffordshire University, Catherine obtained her PhD relating to slug behaviour and control from IACR-Rothamsted. i2LResearch has since developed a leading role and international reputation for R&D and efficacy evaluation of new molluscicides and improved methods of slug control. In addition to this, Catherine also manages all work relating to crop and turf throughout the organisation. This encompasses a large part of the company, routinely working with insecticide, herbicide, fungicide, fertiliser and molluscicide applications across Europe. In March 2005, Catherine opened a branch office of the company in Newcastle, providing an important second geographical site capability for field and glasshouse studies. i2LResearch  (Newcastle) has since gone from strength to strength and currently operates from its own, purpose-built, field station located at Shotley Bridge, County Durham. We currently own 2 hectares of cultivated land, in addition to operating a heated glasshouse complex with extensive commercial polytunnel space. Catherine is a Director of the company.
