Following a first degree at Hatfield Polytechnic, Peter completed his PhD on triatomine bug flight behaviour at Bangor University, North Wales, before moving to Cardiff to work on the control of olive pests. He has published over 70 scientific papers and popular articles, and ran a successful pest management consultancy business for a number of years. Peter's areas of expertise include triatomine bugs, green lacewings and houseflies. He has considerable overseas experience and has travelled and worked in Scandinavia, Spain, South America and the USA.
With a PhD from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and postdoctoral research experience at Cardiff University in pesticide resistance, Graham has over 20 years experience in resistance diagnosis and monitoring and has published extensively in the field. In addition to his research on arthropod pests of agricultural, medical and veterinary importance, he was for 5 years the Commercial Manager for the Pest Management & Ecotoxicology Centre in Cardiff University. Graham is Manager of the Cardiff office of i2LResearch Ltd, helps the company to extend its service portfolio and assists the CEO in all aspects of marketing.

Helena completed her BSc (Hons) in Zoology at Cardiff University and has been with the company for many years. Her particular expertise includes GEP and GLP laboratory, simulated use and field efficacy testing on a huge range of pests, including household and public health, biting, stored product and agricultural pests. She has also a vast experience in biocide regulatory affairs, offering support for registration purposes in the UK, EU and USA.
Helena also has a huge experience in methodology development for a range of testing requirements, from initial screening bioassays to full scale field trials, in close consultation with regulatory authorities, including the UK HSE, UK CRD and US EPA. She has also developed the company organisational procedures, including SOPs, equipment and training methods, so the company operates to a very high standard.
Helena is also the company’s Sales Director, focusing on expanding the company’s client basis, exploring new market niches and developing business in new areas, as well as reinforcing existing links.

Dylan is a graduate of Cardiff University, and has worked for the Company since April 2009. With a background in farming, and academic experience on within host inter-specific parasitic competition, Dylan combines relevant previous experience with solid performance in Study Directing a number of projects at i2LResearch Ltd. Dylan has particular expertise in conducting fly trap trials and bed bug laboratory studies. Dylan is also our Fire Officer, and handles some of our Health & Safety functions
Richard is a zoology graduate of Aberystwyth University and joined the company in September 2010. Richard has an interest in parasitology and insect biology and studied newt ecology for his dissertation. Richard’s duties within the company include carrying out GLP and GEP trials, with particular expertise in laboratory spraying and bait trials. Richard is a keen Scuba diver and is a member of the Neath branch of the British sub aqua club.
Sean is a Swansea University graduate, and joined the company in September 2010. He most enjoyed modules focusing on aquaculture and entomology in his biology degree. Having previous experience in environmental monitoring for the Environment Agency, and as a laboratory assistant for a research company, he adapted well to the role at i2L, with particular expertise in bed bug egg and residual studies. Sean enjoys long walks on the beach and keeping active in his spare time.
Edward is a Study Director and the youngest member of the team at i2LResearch headquarters in Cardiff, who began working for the company in September 2010 after completing his BSc in chemistry at Cardiff University. Since being with the company Edward has been involved in both laboratory and field efficacy studies, in particular black ant field studies In his spare time Edward enjoys keeping active and is involved in local rugby and cricket clubs.
Tom graduated from Cardiff University in 2009 with a BSc in Ecology, and worked in the pharmaceutical industry before joining i2LResearch in November 2010. Within his degree, Tom’s fascination with insects led him to specialize in integrated pest management and invertebrate ecology, and he brings his knowledge in these areas, as well as training in exploratory biostatistics, to bear at i2L. Since joining, Tom has been actively involved in laboratory trials and client interactions, and is responsible for the maintenance and propagation of i2L’s many insect cultures. In his spare time, Tom enjoys travelling and is a member of several conservation charities.
Kelsey has recently joined the team as Peter McEwen’s PA and hopes to become an integral member of i2LResearch Ltd. She has had many years of office experience and has undertaken courses on Dangerous Goods by Air, Fire Precautions and Internal Quality Auditing. Kelsey adds considerably to the Company’s profile, projecting a professional image, and helping to bind the different branches of the Company together at a busy time of high growth. She has two teenage children and enjoys drawing and painting, music, Art Deco and Chanel
