Dr David Casellas - Manager

David Casellas studied as an undergraduate and as a graduate at the University of Girona, his PhD being on the biology of the Argentine ant in Spain. He joined i2LResearch this year as Manager of our branch office, i2L-South. David comments ‘Some of my friends think that I’m hyperactive as I’m always doing something whether it be reading books, doing sport, walking, taking photos, writing my blog, cooking or cultivating my vegetable garden’. He says that he enjoys the simple things like a good espresso coffee or a glass of red wine but the two big passions in his life are his two young children and coaching basketball. He joined i2LResearch this year as Manager of our branch office, i2L-South.

Dr Silvia Abril – Trials Officer

I finished my PhD on the biology and physiology of the Argentine ant in April 2008. Since then I have been working in the University of Girona as a teacher and also as a researcher. I started work at i2L Research Ltd in 2009 with an Argentine ant trial and currently I am working for i2L-South as a Trials Officer. In my free time I am a volunteer of a refuge of abandoned dogs, and I usually spend the weekends taking them for a walk in the countryside. I also like to play the piano or the acoustic guitar, to go jogging or to go hiking with my dog.

Susanna Soley Prieto – Study director

Previously she studied Environmental Science at the University of Girona, followed by Masters studies in Applied Aquatic and Terrestrial Ecology at the University of Barcelona. In her spare time, Susanna likes to spend time with friends, walk her puppy, and sing in a gospel choir. She also enjoys travel.
